Focus on the Family Singapore is a donor-supported Institution of a Public Character dedicated to helping families thrive through differentiated programmes, trusted resources, content placements and family counselling.

ADVOCACY AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Main Responsibilities

  1. Design Quarterly Advocacy Plans to reach out and engage existing and new constituents
  2. Manage and grow our advocacy network, including recruiting family advocates
  3. Strategise and coordinate responses and opinion pieces on family issues, for various media platforms
  4. Collaborate with Partnerships Manager to engage community partners/government agencies to advocate for Family (e.g. conduct family surveys, campaigns)
  5. Track, monitor and respond to social issues and policies pertaining to marriage or family in Singapore
  6. Organise discussions, training, briefings, etc. on trending family issues, monitoring/data collection, stakeholder mapping and current and future advocacy activities etc., in order to involve Focus staff and volunteers in these matters
  7. Attendance of relevant conferences/dialogues and working meetings, as required by the Head/Deputy Head of Corporate Communications/CEO
  8. Undertake any other projects or activities as directed by the Head/Deputy Head of Corporate Communications/CEO

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Solid command of the English language with excellent writing skills
  • Familiarity with international and local family life issues and trends
  • Creative, strategic and resourceful, with excellent analytical and planning skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Initiated, self-disciplined and self-motivated to see through long-term projects
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of social research methodologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science/Social Work or equivalent

Working Hours

  • 9.00am – 6.00pm (with an hour of lunch) from Mondays to Fridays.

Compensation & Benefits

  • This is a contract position renewable annually or with opportunity to be converted to a permanent headcount role.
  • Salary commensurate depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Candidate will be entitled to leave, insurance and all other employment benefits in accordance with the policies set by the organisation.
