Written by award-winning playwright Jean Tay and directed by acclaimed director Samantha Scott-Blackhall, Behind The Wall follows Tommy, a little mouse who ventures beyond a mysterious wall in the perfect city of Pura Pura, where he meets animals that talk and look different, like Al the Elephant, a worker from a faraway land. Behind The Wall shows us that while people may look and sound different, we are all the same on the inside, and just as capable of kindness.

This 30-min film is designed for families with children 5 to 12 years old, and is accompanied by a 20-min post-show activity video and digital activity booklet, which provides insights into the lives of our migrant worker friends.

If you’ve been on the lookout for new parks to explore with your family, here are two to add to your list.

    • Punggol Waterway Park

The distinctive part about Punggol Waterway is its many unique bridges. Two of the nicer bridges to check out are the Jewel Bridge (located at the Western side of the park) and Sunrise Bridge (Eastern side of the park, and perfect for catching sunrise views). Children will also have a splashing good time at the Recreation Zone, which features sand and water play areas.

    • Thomson Nature Park

This 50-hectare buffer park is unique for its rich cultural heritage as it houses a former Hainan Village within its compound. Although Thomson Nature Park is quite small, it is also home to a rich array of biodiversity and is a key conservation site for the critically endangered Raffles' Banded Langur.

We hope that your whole family will have a wonderful December checking out some of these activities and good deals! If you would like to get involved in empowering families and the next generation, you may make a donation here.
